About Us

The Pairs and Squares Dance Club was founded in 1964. Caller Leonard Lee invited members of the Friendship Sunday School of the Southern Hills United Methodist Church to learn square dancing.

The class members danced about a year at the Leonard Hall on South Peoria Street in Tulsa, Ok.

Then, Leonard and Margy Lee were transferred to Little Rock, Arkansas. Joe Jennings, whom Leonard Lee had taught, became the caller. Joe and Diane Jennings bought the Leonard Lee Hall, and the group danced there for many years.

In April, 1965, the club joined the Northeast Oklahoma Square Dance Organization. The club was named Pairs and Squares. The name was chosen because the club did both square and round dancing.

Today, the dances to basic and plus. We currently have 20 couples as members of the club.
